High pressure will move off the coast today, and a strong low pressure system will be replacing it. As low pressure approaches Central Virginia, expect cloudy and cool conditions throughout today. Rain and sleet may come this afternoon, but as temperatures fall tonight, the chance of snow will become more likely, possible accumulations 3-5 inches. As the storm continues tomorrow, expect breezy conditions and a chance for another 2-4 inches of accumulation. High pressure will return Thursday.
Tonight- Overcast skies and snow, with easterly winds at 7-12 mph. Temperatures dropping into the
lower 30s, with a low of 32. 95% chance of precipitation, with rain turning to snow after midnight. Snow accumulations up to 3-5 inches possible.
Tomorrow- Cloudy skies and snow continues, with breezy winds from the north at 14-21 mph. Temperatures increasing to the mid 30s, with a high of 36. 90% chance of precipitation, with new snowfall amounts between 2-4 inches possible.
Tomorrow Night- Cloudy skies clearing up, with northerly winds shifting to the north at 9-18 mph. Temperatures sinking into the lower 30s, with a low of 31. 50% chance of snow, mainly occurring before 10 p.m.
Thursday- Mostly sunny skies, with northwesterly winds at 11-16 mph. Temperatures rising to the upper 40s, with a high of 47.
