With Hurricane Sandy approaching the coastline, expect the next few days to be filled with clouds, rain, and wind. The Charlottesville area should not see the same amount of flooding that the VA coast will receive, but we will be getting a good amount of rain with winds from 15-25 mph, gusting up to 40 mph. Our neighbors to the west, in higher elevations, could receive a decent amount of snowfall. The greatest impact of the storm will be for the NY/NJ area in the coming days as Sandy makes landfall. High pressure will return to the area by the end of the work week.
Tonight- Clouds with rain. North wind between 15-20 mph, gusting up to 25 mph. Temperatures drop into the upper 40s. Low 48. Chance of precipitation 80%.
Tomorrow- Cloudy skies with rain. Northwest wind between 15-20 mph increasing to 20-25 mph in the afternoon. Temperatures rise into the low 50s. High 53. Chance of precipitation 100%.
Tomorrow Night- Cloudy with rain, possibly heavy. Northwest wind between 20-25 mph, gusting to 35-40 mph. Temperatures drop into the upper 40s. Low 47. Chance of precipitation 100%.
Tuesday- Cloudy with rain likely. West wind still breezy between 20-25 mph. Temperatures only reach the low 50s. High 51. Chance of precipitation 80%.
Tuesday Night- Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers lessening as the storm moves out. Temperatures fall into the upper 30s. Low 39. Chance of preiciptation 50%.
Wednesday- Mostly cloudy to partly sunny with temperatures remaining in the low to mid 50s. High 54.
