Wow! After a partly sunny to mostly cloudy Thursday across much of the Northeast, the clouds departed for Friday. A cool, northwesterly wind provided lots and lots of sunshine. Along with that, lower humidity levels and cooler temperatures moved in. That said, temperatures on Friday still made it up to about 80 degrees in most spots, even along the coast! Check out this shot taken Friday afternoon from Osterville, Massachusetts, of Nantucket Sound.
The clouds have moved back in, and these clouds are actually associated with a warm front - the diving line between warmer and more humid air that is trying to push northward. This heat and humidity will arrive Monday. Could it be the first 90 since May in Boston and other New England coastal locations? It's definitely a possibility.
