An official "heatwave" in New England is considered at least three days of 90+ degree heat. The weather pattern has certainly changed, as temperatures have been above normal for eight of the past ten days, and it looks as though temperatures will continue to be near or above normal for at least the next few days. The mercury climbed above the 90-degree mark for five straight days, from Saturday, August 15 to Wednesday, August 19, definitely making it an official heatwave!
Tuesday: 95 (hottest day of the year so far)
Up until this heatwave, we had only hit the 90-degree mark four times. We have now hit it nine times in Atkinson. We average 15 90-degree days per year in our area.
*Note - disregard the last few posts - I'm learning how to post to the site via moblie - I'll hopefully be able to post some pics of Hurricane Bill's waves at the beach over the weekend!
