Biting cold wind, spitting rain and a record trace of snow in Southern New Jersey
The coastal storm that revved up along the Mid-Atlantic, bringing accumulating snow to the Poconos and Catskills, delivered a shot of cold, windswept rain to Southern New Jersey. The Atlantic City Airport, located in Egg Harbor Township, reported a trace of snow, which was a record for October 28. Meanwhile, this video was taken in Ocean City - about 10 miles southeast of the airport, where winds were gusting to 50 mph from the west. That didn't seem to bother these dogs - Bentley the Black Lab and Bailey the Wonderdog - as they stayed fixed on the tennis ball. Nonetheless, the feeling seemed fit neither for man nor beast...or man's best friend...as stinging sand was swept into the ocean. In the southern sky, partial clearing and a red tinge could be seen in the far distant horizon. Signs of better weather to come.
