While it was raining throughout much of the Northeast late yesterday and early this morning, it was snowing throughout the higher elevations of Northern New England! Marti Mayne from the Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce emailed me the picture on the left this afternoon. It was taken by Thomas Prindle around midday at Wildcat Mountain in New Hampshire. Here's a portion of Marti's email to me:
Mt. Washington Valley, NH is reporting in with snow this morning. We’re seeing some accumulation in Crawford and Pinkham Notches, starting at about the 2,000 foot mark, where light rain turned to snow on the way up to Wildcat Mountain according to Marketing Director, Thomas Prindle. As of noon, Wildcat has received about an inch to an inch - and - a - half of accumulation.
While only around 1.5" was reported at Wildcat, as much as 7" was reported at the summit of Killington in Vermont. Ski season is coming! (I can't wait!) Click here for more totals from throughout Northern Maine.
