There has been a little rain in the Northeast throughout the day. Not the kind of rain to cancel outdoor plans. Hot for the first week of September, but gradual cooling after.
Hurricane Gustav is a dangerous and powerful Cat.4 storm. It rapidly intensified in 24 hours from a 75 mile per hour storm to a 150 mile per our storm. It is over western Cuba, into the Gulf of Mexico overnight Saturday, where it could be a Cat 5 storm. Anywhere from Mississippi/Alabama to the north Texas coast could get hit. Right now it is looking more and more that Louisiana will be its final landfall. South Florida is already getting impacted by some of the storm's outer bands. STAY TUNED ALL WHO LIVES ALONG THE GULF COAST.
T.S. Hana is out there. Wasn't doing so well, but now it looks like convection is starting to wrap around the center. Track and strength is uncertain right now. All along the East Coast should monitor Hana.
Elsewhere, off of Africa development is possible from a wave of low pressure.
